A theory of quantum gravity, loop quantum gravity (LQG) attempts to merge quantum mechanics and general relativity, incorporating matter of the Standard Model into the framework established for the pure quantum gravity case. As a candidate for quantum gravity, LQG competes with string theory.. According to Albert Einstein, gravity is not a force – it is a property of spacetime itself. Someday I would like to write a modified version of this book which eliminates all the knot theory and loop quantum gravity, and says more about differential geometry, special relativity, Maxwell's equations, the Yang-Mills equations and general relativity.
